Transportation

Keeping Europe moving

Compliance Engineering International work with transportation clients on significant projects around Europe, helping them to mitigate the EMF impact of new infrastructure on the surrounding environment. EMC/EMF site surveys, onsite EMC testing and studies on compatibility between systems, control and communications all play a crucial role in ensuring that sites meet the critical safety standards for this sector. As a notified assessment body of technical documentation, we have a deep understanding of the issues that our clients face.
We are retained as EMI consultants on High Speed Two (HS2) project to provide expert consultancy on the impact of low frequency magnetic fields on sensitive research centres including the Francis Crick Institute. Extensive measurements of magnetic field emissions from trains and the immunity of shielding technologies and active cancellation systems was carried out.
In addition to the normal EMI sources, rail systems are further impacted by electric propulsion. We are helping our clients meet the new EU inter-operability regulations together with the EMF compliance for rail systems. These regulatory requirements put ever increasing emphasis on electromagnetic issues.

Our team carried out EMI and health impact assessments on most of the Metro projects in Dublin, including Metro North, Metro West and CCL (Cross City Link).
