Working together to keep the public safe

Thousands of people rely on the substations hidden amongst our towns and cities.
As a result, many are not aware of the unique combination of critical and sensitive equipment that exists in a severe electromagnetic interference (EMI) environment, generated by the high voltage infrastructure. In addition to fire risk, where the substations are located within buildings, there is a need to protect the adjacent staff from radiated and conducted emissions. On a larger scale, high voltage electrical infrastructure creates a number of EMI issues. Compliance Engineering International has developed proven, cost effective mitigation and shielding solutions to help energy companies meet their regulatory requirements, whilst protecting the public and their staff.

CEI provides assistance to draft EMC chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments reports. We have assisted many clients regarding emissions from high voltage powerlines including High Voltage DC (HVDC). We have extensive experience of measuring harmonic emissions from power lines and verifying the immunity of local telephone circuits.
