Project Case Study
Government
Client: Annes Gate Property/ Bouygues
Architect: Farrells
Services: Site surveys, design and shielding installation

Home Office, London
The CEI team provided surveys, design and shielding installation at the headquarters of the Home Office in London, located on the site of the former 1960s Department of Environment building
In the award-winning Home Office building in Westminster, Compliance Engineering International originally performed modelling of the three basement located 4MW substations, before going on to identify elevated levels in the office area above.
Our client for this PFI project elected to shield the space above to mitigate potential interference with computer equipment by ensuring compliance with the EMC Directive and the ITE standard EN 55024. While the predicted levels were well below accepted health limits, the shielding also provides reassurance regarding staff exposure to the elevated EMF levels.
